When POW Creative Alliance Member Summer Doss learned about the impact that the Willow Project was going to have on the public lands of northern Alaska, she was inspired to capture the wild beauty of the place in the best way she knew how. This is some of our favorite art we’ve seen yet. “For this design, I wanted to draw attention to POW’s continued efforts to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge from oil and gas extraction. The Willow Project is the single largest oil extraction project proposed on federal lands. I hoped this design would draw attention to the Willow Project while also focusing on the interconnectedness between the mountains, rivers, flora, fauna and human beings. The harm we cause the Earth is also the harm we cause ourselves.”
