Celebrate Earth Day with POW

Back

At POW we love getting outside any chance we can and capitalizing on opportunities to protect our outdoor playgrounds. Earth Day gives us the perfect excuse to do just that (not that we needed one). As a member of the Outdoor State, you champion the places you live and love and that’s enough reason to celebrate.

Join us this week as we celebrate Earth Day with some rad events:

#CrushIt4Climate

We can’t think of a better way to spend Earth Day than doing the things we love outdoors. Join us as we #CrushIt4Climate by getting outside and casting a line, taking a hike, hitting the singletrack, the skin track or whatever outdoor activity gets you stoked.  All you have to do is Get Out Here and join Team POW to #CrushIt4Climate.

By joining you’ll be entered to win an all-expenses paid trip for you and a friend to the POW Alliance Leadership Summit with us this fall along with some other sweet prizes! Don’t forget to drive the movement with us by sharing your adventures on Instagram by tagging @protectourwinters and #CrushIt4Climate!

Join Epic Water Filter’s Emu Bob:

In case you’ve never heard of what an Emu-Bob is (or you’re not Australian), here’s the definition: Emu-Bob / Australian informal / verb -bobs, -bobbing or -bobbed. (intr) to bend over to collect litter or small pieces of wood.

POW Partner Epic Water Filters is hosting this event to clean up single-use plastic from Boulder Creek in Boulder, Colorado. Meet up with us on Earth Day at 11 a.m. at the Boulder Public Library parking lot. Gloves and bags provided! Tell Rob ([email protected] ) you’re coming so he can provide enough lunch!

Not in Colorado? Get out there to your favorite local spot and have yourself an Emu-Bob!

Watch the Free Premiere of Usufruct

Join us for the free virtual Premiere of Usufruct – a film about beetles and bikes. In our new film, POW Athlete Alliance Member, Dillon Osleger, Sarah Sturm and Even Green opt to ride through burn zones and beetle kill areas, diving into the impact and implications that climate change is having on their home trails in Durango, Colorado.

Their goal is to learn what they can do–and what we all can do– to begin changing the tide.

The screening begins at 7:30p.m. MST, followed by  a live panel discussion with Dillon Osleger, Sarah Sturm and Amanda Monthei.

Ski at A-Basin’s POWFest

As a member of the Outdoor State, you put in a lot of time and work into protecting the places we live and love from the threat of climate change, and you bring great value to the POW community. We think that’s something to celebrate, so we’re inviting you to our car-pool Earth Day party at A-Basin. It’s sure to be a fun time with rad prizes in the mix!
