Since the winter of 1946-47, Aspen’s average temperature has warmed by three degrees Fahrenheit. Aspen Snowmass has lost 30 days of winter since 1980 alone. The Melted Gondola at the top of Aspen Mountain helps us visualize what’s happening to the ski industry: Temperatures are rising, winter is shortening, and summers are filled with the increasing threat of fires and flooding.  

By supporting Protect Our Winters (POW)—a community of athletes, scientists, creatives, and business leaders advancing non-partisan climate policies — Aspen Snowmass is working towards a future where skiing and riding is always possible.
