Arapahoe Basin and POW Host Climate Science Panel
On Saturday, April 8th, Arapahoe Basin and POW hosted three Boulder-based scientists on a panel to discuss the future of skiing and the science behind snow. The panel featured Dr. Jim White, Director of the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (and member of the POW Science Alliance), Dr. Katja Friedrich, Associate Professor at the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at University of Colorado Boulder, and Dr. Keith Musselman, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National Center for Atmospheric Research and was moderated by Arapahoe Basin’s COO, Alan Henceroth.
Thanks to CU’s CIRES Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow Elizabeth Maroon for recording the event. If you missed it, sit back, relax, and learn a little more about what the snowpack will look like in 2085. Spolier alert: It’s scary. We recommend watching with a beer!
Thanks to Arapahoe Basin for hosting the event and to our panelists for helping us learn more about the future of winter!
