Hannah is from Oakland, CA, where she grew up spending time in her local regional parks system, playing outside until dusk on bikes, and making the trek to the Sierra to ski on weekends.
She attended UC Santa Barbara where she received her B.S. in Ecology and Evolution and a minor in Earth Science. Studying these topics educated her on the interconnectedness of the natural and built environments. An added bonus was that many of her classes were taught outdoors. After college she hopped on her bike and moved to Jackson Hole via two wheels, to explore what living in, rather than commuting to the mountains, had to offer. Here she worked for Energy Conservation Works, working hand in hand with Lower Valley Energy to increase energy conservation and emissions reductions in the valley.
Since then, Hannah has spent months working in Alaska, Hawaii and Iceland, assistant teaching arctic and island ecology courses. After years of shuffling around these incredible landscapes, Hannah settled in Bozeman, Montana where most recently she was community organizing around public lands conservation in the state. Hannah is thrilled to join POW’s campaigns team during this pivotal election year, hoping to outdoor enthusiasts across Montana’s first congressional district.
When not behind her computer screen, you can find Hannah trying a new activity outside (an expert novice at many things) or buying way too many snacks from the Bozeman Food Cooperative to fuel said activities.
